My buddy and I were on our way to a seminar on Santa Clara and needed a bite to eat before the long evening ahead. Since he lives in Mountain View, we cruised downtown to try one of their abundant Thai restaurants. For this occasion we chose to dine at Amarin and since it was a warm night, opted to sit outside.
We decided to order the pad thai and green curry with chicken. The pad thai had good flavor but the portion size seemed a bit unsatisfying. The green curry was pretty darn spicy (a good thing) and the portion was good, even though it was in such a small bowl. They were decent dishes but nothing extraordinary.
The outside tables are definitely where it's at in the beautiful weather, but also comes with the detriment of being neglected by the wait staff. In fact, we didn't even get water until well into our meal. The food was decent but not the best I've ever had, but it was the lack of service that really killed it for me. With all of the competition just on that block, I will be giving their competitors a try in the future.
