I had a business meeting in La Jolla and my contact suggested that we meet at Aroma. Never having been there, I was always up for trying something new. Unfortunately, the prices an lack of service were a major turn-off.
Since I wasn't really in the mood to eat (and this place is relatively expensive to boot) I decided to get a cup of hot green tea. At $3, it definitely wasn't cheap, nor was it that good. Service came around quite infrequently and didn't seem to care about us so much so that my meeting partner even commented on it. Even the management inside wasn't very responsive.
While the patio seating was really dog-friendly and several people were having lunch with their pups, I can't get over the complete lack of service. I mean, what am I paying for here anyway? This would definitely not be my first choice of places to go in the future and there's plenty of places in the area that will treat you right, and serve some pretty good grub as well.
