Board & Brew

Reconnecting with some of the best colleagues you've ever worked with is always an exciting occasion, and the opportunity to do so came up to rejoining at the new Board & Brew in Carlsbad. I guess it's partially due to the lack of eateries in the area, but this place was packed. However, it did not reduce the quality of service from the staff that immediately recognized my Yelp t-shirt and commented on how awesome Yelp was.

I ordered the Turkado, a turkey sandwich with avocado. The size was pretty good and all of the ingredients were very fresh, especially considering how quickly the turn their ingredients. While the sandwiches are very reasonably prices, the combos kick up the cost to nearly $10 per person. That's pretty pricey when you consider that the only value add is a drink and chips but I was still pleased with my overall meal. When you're the only show in town, you can pretty much charge anything you want.

Board and Brew is an awesomely laid back sandwich shop with excellent, fresh ingredients. This particular location is very out of the way for me but if one opened up locally, it would definitely be my choice over Subway and Quiznos. The tables outside made for a great place to chat with my old pal and the best part is that you can have your dog with you while you eat. I definitely dig the sandwiches here and hope they open some nearby!
