What a lovely walk! I envy the people who have the Bob Jones Trail in their backyard. This flat and paved trail is ideal for morning strolls, dog walking, and casual biking. About 2 miles long, it ends at Avila Beach (which, by the way, allows dogs before 10 a.m. and after 5 p.m.).
Along the way you'll see and/or pass through:
Lots of green trees and hills
A creek (and maybe even salmon depending on the time of year)
A golf course
Houses you wish were yours
Children's play area
Woodstone Marketplace (casual, affordable eats)
After a mega relaxing night in the sulfurous waters of Sycamore Springs, my lady friend and I wanted to go for a nice hike out to Avila Beach via the Bob Jones Trail. The entire "trail" is paved and flat so the going was easy all the way out to the water. Leashed dogs are welcome and the scenery is nothing but green and beautiful, especially after a brisk rain. With a good mix of straights, curves, sun, and shade, the Bob Jones Trail was more of a road than anything but was still a lot of fun.
