My friend and I had planned to get some dessert after dinner, and despite already having a dessert at Wa Dining OKAN, decided to go next door to Café Hue for dessert part 2.

There were lots of things to choose from and we had a difficult time deciding whether to have a waffle or crepe. We saw the gelato case and decided to give a few of those a try. While they had a pretty good selection of flavors, I found them all to be way too icy and sort of sludgy at the same time because the case wasn't cold enough. Despite that, we ultimately decided to get a scoop of coconut gelato on hot waffle. When it arrived, the gelato was already melting and sort of fell apart when you cut into it. There was also way too much shredded coconut in it that it actually made it kind of unappetizing to eat. I much prefer fresh coconuts in my ice cream. The waffle itself was quite tasty and reminded me of the Chinese cocktail buns that you'd find in Asian bakeries. That was really the only high point for me in this dessert and wasn't into the gooey gelato at all.

Overall, I was disappointed with my experience here. I've read that they're really popular and people love the desserts, but they just didn't measure up to some of the other things out there. I'd rank it a little higher than Crepe World, but just barely. I don't think I'll be back. If you do decide to drop in, there's a single table outside to hang with your pup at.
