After an invigorating meeting in Coronado, I decided to walk over to the pier to surprise my lady with a nice Valentine's Day cupcake. The waterfront area is absolutely stunning and may be the best view of San Diego one can get. I was hoping that the breath-taking views would compliment a moist cupcake, but the stuff offered here was way sub-par.

I got her a chai spice cupcake which seems to have been sitting a while. The buttercream was rock hard and the cake was firm and more like a muffin than cupcake. At $3.25, it was super disappointing and a total ripoff.

As it turns out, most of the center's shops are mostly for tourists and the eateries seem a bit apathetic. I was totally unimpressed by the whole experience and even the service was poor. The center is dog-friendly and there are tables where you can post up while "enjoying" your cupcake. However, no part of this experience was enjoyable and I won't ever be coming back here.
