I look forward to attending December Nights every year because you get to enjoy all of the great food, free museums, and tons of San Diegans walking their dogs on a beautiful, winter evening. The parking situation is a trainwreck but my friends and I have figured out some handy tricks over the years that make it a breeze. Don't think I'll be so quick to give up the ghost so easily because this secret is staying right here.

This year I tried both the Argentinian sausage and the German bratwurst and the Bavarian stuff was definitely superior. The Scottish apple cider was bomb-diggity but the stuff we picked up from Poland (I think) was completely undrinkable. The desserts from Scotland were pretty sweet too and their bread pudding was to die for.

The museums themselves aren't pet-friendly so if you bring your pups, you'll be strictly restricted to staying outside. I'd recommend carrying most small dogs since there are soooo many people walking around you don't want them to get stepped on. Bring them out for a good time with the family and try some fabulous ethnic foods!
