Farmers Market at the Marin Country Mart

It is small - but kind of nice that it feels almost hidden away. While most farmers markets are for strolling, this one is great for just hanging out. There are plenty of places to sit, including under a big tent that serves as the food court. The market and shopping center that hosts it are very family and dog friendly; it's a shame more stores/vendors haven't moved in. (I'm not sure if the food area technically allows dogs but a lot of people had their pets with them.)

There were maybe just a few farmers selling produce, flowers and seedlings. The bulk of the vendors sold food and artisan products - breads, jams, meats, seafood, juices, cheeses, pies, BBQ, Mexican food, and the piece de resistance in my book - ice pops! With crazy-awesome flavors like chocolate avocado.

I've been wanting to explore the Marin Mart farmers market for some time and finally had the opportunity to check it out with the lady this weekend. It was a beautiful day and people were enjoying the sights, smells, and sounds of the market with their families and dogs. There's a ton of good food to try and even Cowgirl Creamery was serving up some excellent cheeses. The only con I would say about the market is that it's a little on the small side and isn't super highly trafficked. It doesn't seem like many people know about it unfortunately. Hey people, it's [unofficially?] dog-friendly!
