I was meeting with my buddy for dinner and wanted to try something new. He mentioned a great place in North Beach called Giordano Bros with some popular sandwiches so we made the long walk up from the BART station to give it a try.

I ordered the Italian sausage sandwich ($6.95) and Amstel ($3) for dinner. The sandwich was stuffed with fries and coleslaw which really brought it all together. It was really delicious but I couldn’t help but want more fries and sides to round out the meal. If you took those things out of the sandwich, I think it might just be bread and meat. Regardless, the combination is undeniably tasty and I’d come back for another one.

The service was really friendly and welcoming. Giordano Bros is essentially a dive bar with food and there’s a homely feel to the place. The happy hour specials get as low as $2 per beer, which is pretty much unbeatable in the city. On a nice day, they've got some great tables outside that you can enjoy with your dog. Stop by when there’s a big game and throw back a beer as you cheer your team on!
