My buddy and I needed some grub before heading to the Hacker Dojo to get some work done. We dropped by Castro Street and walked along until we happened upon Gyros House. A sudden Mediterranean craving struck and the desire for gyros took over so we strode in for some grub.
I ordered the lamb and beef gyro, which came to over $8 with no sides. I was a little disappointed about the price because it seemed on the high side, but the gyro itself was very good and the yogurt sauce was delicious. The meat had a ton of flavor but the meal went by a little too fast for me and I wanted more. I didn't want to spend another $8 though so left to satiate my belly elsewhere.
The service was pretty nice here and there was no argument about putting multiple meats into the gyro. In fact, multiple meats are a menu item so bonus points for that. The weather outside was frightful (there was no delightful fire inside unfortunately) so we opted to skip the dog-friendly outdoor tables this time. I liked Gyros House and plan to come back, but it's more fitting as a snack than a full-fledged meal.
