One of my favorite places in the world for a quick, delicious, affordable, and fast meal is In-N-Out Burger. With locations strewn across California (with a few in Nevada, Utah, and Arizona and well), there is always an opportunity for an In-N-Out fix. I was only introduced to this killer social sandwich after graduating high school since the closest location was about 30 miles away; that is, until they opened on only about 5 miles away, making it much easier to acquire.
My favorite item on their abbreviated menu is their Double-Double meal, "Animal-style". Animal style is the addition of extra pickles, "spread" (thousand island dressing), grilled onions, and mustard fried into each patty. If you've never had it before, it is to die for. I never would have thought that a mustard patty with thousand island could be so incredible, but this big burger easily "whops" the competition. Their fries are also astounding and are cut fresh right before your eyes. Topped with grilled onions and cheese, these taters make for a meal in itself, enough to crave even my animalistic appetite.
Nothing at In-N-Out is ever frozen and you can really taste the difference in quality that makes this not so ordinary burger joint great. Whether you walk in or drive through their drive thru, you can always expect the same extraordinary level of food, service, and quality every time. The tables outside are inviting for your dog to chill at and I like to slip mine a fry or two once in a while. I've sampled them all, but I can categorically say that no fast food restaurant makes as good a burger as my beloved In-N-Out. As they say, "that's what a hamburger's all about!"
