Kara's Cupcakes

While waiting for the doors to Republic to open for the evening's event, my 1 and decided to get our dessert on at Kara's down the street. The cakes in the window looked delicious so we waltzed in only to find others in our boat enjoying a sweet treat before getting their drink on.

There were about 10 cupcake choices and I could decide so we asked for a recommendation. There was only one strawberry creme left so I chose that one. The center was filled with a sweet cream and the strawberry flavors were very refreshing. It didn't feel too heavy at all, but at $3.50 it wasn't something I would treat myself everyday.

Unless I'm mistaken, the menu board clearly said that filled cupcakes are $3.25, but I was charged $3.50. Was this yet another case of a non-updated menu board? Since I was in a hurry I didn't bother to bring it up this time, but it still bothers me to no end. Costs of business have clearly gone up and updating a permanent menu board can be costly. Probably something to consider in the process of putting it all together. They have a single table outside if you've got your dog joining you on a windy day but otherwise it's a good idea to grab and go.
