I'm definitely not a morning person and this is especially true on the weekends. However, when friends are visiting from out of town, I guess anything is possible. Parking can be difficult in PB, but we agreed to meet at Kono's at 8am to beat the crowds. However, there was already a line forming even then. This place is clearly a local hotspot for some of the best breakfast deals in town. With kayaking, a workout, dinner, and karaoke on the horizon, I was going to need all of the energy food I could get. It's a pretty tight squeeze once you get inside and if you've got your dog you'll have to tie him up until you get your food. There's a small patio out back where your buddy can join you but space there is pretty limited too.

I opted for the big breakfast #2, a hungry man's feast of French toast, a heaping pile of potatoes and eggs, bacon, and a biscuit. The French toast was very good but I wish that they had some real maple syrup to go over it besides the single serving high fructose corn syrup stuff. Besides that, it was great. Ever since I started working out, I seem to be able to eat less and less for better or for worse, and I was unable to finish my huge brunch. I always hate wasting food but there was absolutely no way I was going to completely consume this thing unless I wanted aches and pains to plague me as I kayaked. Ultimately I made the right choice to discard the extra carbs and pat my already big belly in satisfaction.

For what you get for the price, there is no better value in town than Kono's. Just be sure to come early enough to get ahead of the lines or you will definitely find yourself waiting quite a while for your meal. Huge is the operative word for this place so come with a huge appetite while braving huge lines and enjoying your huge breakfast and you'll be leaving with a huge grin on your face. If you've got any leftovers, I'm sure your pet pal would love to get his paws on it. I'm just not sure how healthy all those carbs and protein would be.
