A poker buddy was visiting from out of town and we decided to get together with some friends for happy hour at La Puerta. My only other experience here was at the Seis de Mayo Yelp Elite party and I was eager to try some of their unique flavors.

The table started up with their complimentary chips and salsas and I ordered their organic margarita, the Organic Electrica. Made with all organic ingredients including agave nectar instead of triple sec, the flavors were much more pure and well defined than most other margaritas I've enjoyed.

Upon my buddy's recommendation, I went with the chicken enchiladas topped with their mole sauce. With hints of many spices in this chocolate sauce, it was extremely delicious and I found myself literally cleaning my plate of it. Admittedly, the portions aren't what I would expect from most Mexican restaurants, but you could certainly taste the quality.

I don't make it downtown for happy hour nearly often enough since I don't work there anymore, but it's always nice to get together with friends and chat it up over a drink. I'm looking forward to the next opportunity when everybody is in town and has time to get together whether it's for poker or for drinks!
