Lake Miramar

I used to take Mickey around Lake Miramar all the time when I would go running with my friend. Well, she would go running and I would walk... Anyway, it was a great place to get exercise and the loop is exactly 5 miles all the way around. I never did get a chance to take him all the way around (5 miles is a lot!) but Mickey did love being outdoors and meeting new people. There is plenty of parking when you arrive but keep that leash on because you really need to adhere to staying on the correct side of the path since cars sometime drive through. I would say that's the biggest complaint, and there are also patches of gnats that pop up out of nowhere too.

Lake Miramar is a great place to bring the dogs and kids and people are pretty friendly as long as you clean up after your dog. Also, it's important to keep the dogs from chasing the birds and away from the shoreline. Keep the lake clean!

This lake is 5 miles round trip and very populated with walkers, roller bladers, runners and families going on a family outing such as fishing.

Dogs are more than welcome but have to be on a leash. There are no dog bags or water along the trail so be ready.

Parking could be a fight because it seems everybody in Miramar is always at the lake. =)
