Lappert's Ice Cream

My girlfriend and I were heading back into SF from Marin on a beautiful day and the thought of the cold fog chilled us to the core. Instead, we took a detour into Sausalito for a scoop of Lappert's famous ice cream and a leisurely stroll on the waterfront.

We shared a scoop of their chocolate macadamia nut in a cup. At nearly $4, it's a very expensive treat that tourists eat up in droves, so much so that there is a second location just down the street. On the bright side, every spoonful had quite a bit of macadamia nut in it, but it wasn't worth $4 to me. They accept cash only which doesn't help their case either.

The service here has an edge of attitude which doesn't make you feel very welcome at all. You pretty much order by pushing to the front of the line since there really is no order here, only chaos. There are two benches out front that welcome your dogs, but the long lines make it a pretty tight space to maneuver about in so moving along quickly is recommended. Overrated and under-satisfied, I will skip this scoop next time.
