Very nice, convenient park right by the North University library (behind the Nobel Athletic Field).
There's always plenty of poop bags for use and the people (i.e. owners) are very friendly, so it's just as much a social for the doggy parents as it is for the lil kids.
They've just started laying new sod, that helps give some of the dryer areas a fresh lease on life.
this dog park is one of the nicer ones around the Mira Mesa/UTC area. As most dog parks, the grass is hard to maintain but this park is decent. There is dirt/dust around but it is dry and not muddy.
The park as a separate area of dogs under 30 lbs and dogs over 30 lbs which makes it convenient for those puppy parents with tiny pups.
The people are nice and the dogs well behaved. The park has sufficient poopy bags as well.
This is definitely one of the nicer, and newer, dog parks I've been to recently. There's tons of parking and the people are generally really nice. The grass could use some time to regrow and get green, but otherwise the park is pretty clean and poop-free.
There are two separate areas for big dogs and small dogs but since Cloud is only like 20 pounds, I don't think I'd risk letting her run around with the larger breeds. If I did, I don't think Amanda C. and Spencer L. would let me play with her there anymore!
This park is nice to let your dog run around in. As summer is approaching however, it is getting dry and dusty. The people are mostly friendly and dogs are well behaved.
I love this dog park! It's located in the back by where the library is, and has a huge section for big dogs and one for little dogs. The park is only 2 years old and they're still adding improvements to it. It is also very flat so its easy to see where your dog is and let them run along the whole length of the park. There are benches and chairs inside the park for people to sit. There is even a huge parking lot right in front of the park, so parking has never been an issue.
People bring their dogs here at all hours of the day and if you wait 5-10 minutes, someone will always show. In the morning and late afternoons, the park is the busiest. In the little dog section, there are as many as 20-30 dogs playing. The big dog section usually get about 10 dogs at a time. Everyone is very friendly at this park, and we all know the names of each of the dogs that come here.
There are doggie bags available, and amazingly, there's still grass growing here. There are dog fountains and plenty of bowls to fill with water. If you're looking for a dog park where you can get to know the people and their dogs, this is the place to go. The dogs are very well behaved and all play well together.
