My coffee rocky road had freezer burn. My hubby's ice cream had big chunks of ice. My poodle's cone was perfect.
We come here only so our dog can get a free "doggy cone". They take the end of the broken sugar cones and make a little tiny cone of soft serve ice cream for the pooches. Adorable.
The ice cream you can buy at Safeway is better and usually without the freezer burn but they don't give out doggy cones.
After a big hefty dinner of some excellent pizza, my sister and bro-in-law decided to grab some dessert with the baby. I suggested some froyo, but after hearing about the wheel of destiny over at Polly Ann's, I had to give it a spin.
I happened to land on bubble gum, a flavor I can't stand. Fortunately it was flanked by French vanilla and green tea! Boy was I in for a treat. Their green tea ice cream tastes just like the stuff from Shimo's, one o my favorite sushi joints ever. I've been craving this stuff ever since I left for San Diego and was elated to finally taste the dark smokiness of the green tea in this authentic ice cream. It was a fabulous end to a great evening.
The ice cream at Polly Ann's is excellent but the wheel of destiny really put it over the top for me. It's one of the coolest gimmicks I've ever seen in an ice cream shop and there's even a ~5% chance of winning a free cone! I can't wait to come back and spin again, and I've got my fingers crossed for some green tea. Also, I heard that if you bring your dog, they even hook them up with their own special doggy cone. How cool is that shht?! WIN.

The things we endure for our pups!
