Rei Do Gado Brazilian Steak House

Rei Do Gado is a very popular Brazilian-style steakhouse just outside the Gaslamp. Whenever my dad comes to visit, we've always got to stop by for some of their salad bar and well-seasoned meat. Their lunch special is extremely attractive since it is only a third of the price as what dinner would cost, and that's what my buddy and I found ourselves lured by today.

While the lunch special may offer fewer choices of meat, you really don't notice as ten different cuts circulate around the room. My favorites are definitely the chicken and cheese, baby back ribs, and the sausage. The meats are cooked with nothing more than a touch of sea salt, just as it should be done, and brings out all of the outstanding flavors of the meat. Their salad bar is no slouch either, and offers many high quality choices including their seasoned rice, seafood curry, mushroom salads, and fresh fruit.

If you're looking for a really fun atmosphere surrounded by servers carrying sharp knives and swords of meat, there's really no better place to go than Rei Do Gado. Come hungry though because you will want to save room to sample everything. Your dog can hang with you on the outdoor patio, but I they're not allowed to eat the meat! Puppy dog eyes or not, it's probably not good for them. Meat isn't something that I can eat much of since it's so bulky, but I try my damnedest to fill my belly with the tender stuff. This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in San Diego, and I look forward to every trip...to the salad bar!
