My friend gave me tickets to the Pet Expo, so how could I not go! It was a lot of fun, but most of all I felt it was for a great cause. You can either donate food/blankets for pets or pay for your tickets. Proceeds go to help the Human Society and other organizations. They had a few shows going on throughout the day that were informative and entertaining.

We brought along our dog even though the website told us not to. Many others brought their dogs as well, and when you arrive there is a sign that only asks that your dog be leashed at all times. The splash competition was so adorable. Dogs run off of a platform and whoever lands the farthest in the water wins.

There was an indoor convention area where you can buy lots of different things for your pets. Even Bird Crazy (a store specialized for birds) was there with a baby hornbill and an assortment of birds for sale. Lots of samples of food were given out and we even ran into some dog park friends there!

If you don't have a pet or are looking for a new one, the Pet Expo had loads of rescues that offered dogs, cats, and even rabbits for adoption. Either way, if you love animals, you should go next year to get your fill! I'll be returning next year for sure!

My awesome attorney told me about the annual San Diego Pet Expo and you know I absolutely had to go! My pal and I cruised over to the Del Mar Fairgrounds to play with some rescue pups and enjoy the Splash Dogs distance leaping competition.

There were soooo many rescue organizations present that I completely lost count. Chopper, Doc-Barker, and a few other pet-lebrities were even making an appearance! I got my first glimpse of a zonkey! Or was it a zorse? Either way, it was definitely something unique and a marvel to see up close.

The website for the pet expo explicitly stated that you weren't allowed to bring your dog, yet just about everybody at the event had. Might as well make it pet-friendly right? Besides that, I had a lot of fun seeing the leaping competition and playing with all of the super sweet rescue dogs. I hope they all make it into great homes.
