Berries Valencia is Sidewalk Juice's most popular smoothie flavor. It's OK. I'm not sure I'd come back for the juice alone, but there are a few things that make this a pretty cool place:

- It's just a window in a wall, with wooden benches and planters along the sidewalk. Which means -- bring your dog and do some people-watching!
- Good mix of healthy and not-so-healthy drinks, depending on your mood. They have quite a selection of kombucha if that's your thing, including The Hangover (which I'm told can cure hangovers and is pretty popular in that part of town).
- Friendly people.
- They use organic fruits and veggies. Even the mint cookies they used in our mint/chocolate/banana smoothie were from Valencia Whole Foods. Poor guy had to run across the street to pick them up from the store for us!

My girlfriend and I were a bit early to a Yelp Elite event so we decided to explore the Mission a bit. We originally walked over to a popular coffee shop, but noticed a hole-in-the-wall juice bar by the name of Sidewalk Juice. It was too tempting not to stop in for a drink.

We ordered the Mint Madness and Berries Valencia. The mint was just alright to me but the Valencia was quite good. I don't know how they make it so smooth, but that's really what made this more than your average smoothie. We also got a vanilla and chocolate chip cookie sandwich which was quite soft and filled with vanilla goodness.

At $5 each for the smoothies and about $3 for the cookie, these were not cheap eats by any means. People swear by the smoothies here but they're just too pricey as an every day thing for me. I'm not saying they weren't good, but just not a destination for me. Since the whole experience is outside, go ahead and bring your dogs out to people watch on the benches next to the shop. It's definitely a good stop on a long walk.
