Getting an earlier than usual start to the day, I scooted over the Palo Alto to find a spot to get some work done. With my stomach growling, I needed to grab a quick breakfast so I'd be able to focus and noticed the $1.99 breakfast special of an egg slider and coffee and was lured in by the deal.
I rolled up to the counter to order the special and, in the process of being rung up, noticed that I had actually been charged 25% more for my meal than the advertised rate. I inquired about the discrepancy and was told that they'd changed the price but had not changed the signage, leading me only to feel like I was bait and switched. Stomach gurgling, I decided to bite the bullet and convinced myself it was still a good deal.
When the biscuit arrived, I was glad to have a hot meal with coffee but found the sandwich to be really bland, even with the bacon and cheese inside. The coffee was ok, but there was absolutely no effort to check on me or refill my cup. Not a great experience to be sure.
SliderBar feels kind of like an upscale diner than anything else. They've got bench seating outside where they allow your dog to join you. However, the food was just so-so. They've got several advertised specials that make the place appear to be a deal, but after getting burned once, I'd seriously question the legitimacy of the other bargains. Definitely not one of my favorite places in PA.
