Finding a table is definitely tough and we had to scope around and was finally able to lock one down. Since everything was $2.50, I decided to try their grilled lobster and shark tacos, as well as their fried calamari and oyster tacos. It was difficult to identify one from the other simply by looking, and I found it tough to find the minor taste variances as well. The flavors were muddled by the salsa, sour cream, and other ingredients, which while flavorful, really blotted out the flavors of the seafood. However, the calamari stood out to me as being the most interesting while the oyster was the least interesting. Ultimately though, not highlighting the fish became the tacos' ultimate downfall and l was disappointingly left wanting quite a bit more from them.
South Beach has been hyped up to me over the last few years and I'm left to wonder what everybody was raving about. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't mind-blowing either, and I know my friends will be pissed to learn that my socks were blasted off over them. Sadly, it seems it's just another place to get (albeit a good deal on) fish tacos on a Tuesday. At least they’ve got a patio, so bring your dogs by!
