Spices Thai Cafe

I hadn't seen my buddy for a long while and I wanted to treat him to lunch so we decided to meet up at Spices Thai Cafe. Upon stepping inside I realized that it was crazy busy as the lunch crowds were just kicking it into high gear but fortunately finding a table for 2 didn't take very long.

I ordered the Panang curry lunch special that started off with a small bowl of very refreshing vegetarian Tom Kha soup. It had great flavor and spice but didn't not nearly prepare me for the super spiciness if the curry. I had ordered it a 7 out of 10 on the spice scale, but it really felt like a 9 and burned me up pretty good. That said, it was pretty tasty and was served with a pair of fried won tons and a pair of small egg rolls. The only thing I would have changed besides the level of spice would be to ladle the curry into a bowl so it wasn't all over the place and soaking everything. This would have improved my enjoyment of the meal as well as the presentation.

Overall, I really enjoyed the lunch special at Spices. There was a ton of food for the money and they even have a great outdoor patio where you can bring your well behaved dog. If I'm ever looking for a spot to chill for a quick meal with my pet, I would definitely drop by here.
