Sprouts Natural Foods Cafe

Just as we were about to give up on the South Lake food scene and resign ourselves to a week of heavy, over-seasoned, lackluster food, we came across Sprouts. What a diamond in the rough! Sprouts has healthy, fresh food and smoothies at reasonable prices (just about everything is under $10). They are also dog and kid friendly -- with big picnic tables outside for the pups and toys for the kiddies. Looks like they serve mostly soups, salads, sandwiches, smoothies, and several heartier entrees like rice bowls. It's mostly vegetarian, with some turkey thrown in. Everything arrives at the table looking perky and colorful, with like six different veggies. Healthy comfort food at its best!

When every restaurant in the area features a bad buffet or lackluster fare, sometimes you just want something fresh and tasty. My girlfriend and I stumbled upon Sprouts, a vegetarian restaurant, by accident and it was super well rated so we decided to cruise by and check it out.

We ordered a tempeh burger, cous cous and hummus wrap, and energy smoothie to share. All of the food was absolutely delicious and specially made, and you could taste the freshness and quality in every bite.

Service was super friendly and fast, and the food was surprisingly affordable. The vibe is extremely homely, and it feel like you're in the living room of a log cabin. The restaurant is easy to miss from the road so keep an eye out for this special place. They've got some tables out front to enjoy with your dog on a warm day too. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
