Woohoo, brunch in Hayes Valley! There's nothing better to do on a weekend morning if you're a brunchaholic like me.

There was quite a crowd outside waiting for tables. If they tell you it's a 15-20 minute wait, they really mean 25-30 minutes. Free coffee and tea outside makes the wait a bit more bearable. There are plenty of small cafe tables around the side of the building, where pooches are welcome.

The inside looks and feels like a Vegas buffet - crazy busy, and bursting at the seams with people and fake flowers and plants. Service is spotty. However, the food is good and hearty and hit the spot. The pancakes and bacon bloody mary's looked pretty killer too.

My girlfriend and I wanted to grab some brunch before heading to the SF Dogma event in the park at Hayes Valley and saw the huge line outside of Stacks.  The neighboring breakfast joints didn't have nearly as much traffic so we decided to brave the crowd and give their food a try.  Everybody must know something we don't, right?

I ordered the hot link omelet on the recommendation of the server and it was served with hash browns and a bagel.  I kind of would have like toast instead but it was pretty good with the homemade jams.  The omelet was pretty tasty with the sour cream and fresh salsa but for an Italian omelet I wasn't sure why they were there.  Not too shabby though.

There were plenty of dog-friendly tables outside and nearly all of them had pups accompanying them.  Service was really slow and unattentive but that was likely because they were so packed.  Still, it could have been better.  Overall, I think I would still prefer to try another place instead of waiting 30-45 minutes in that line again for the super slow service.
