Tea Station

Talk about a rip-off, Tea Station definitely takes the cake when it comes to ridiculously overpriced boba. After tax and tip the large almond milk tea drink came out to almost $8, which is astronomical in the world of the milk teas. Taiwanese people love this place for some reason and come in troves. While there aren't many sit-down boba joints that can compare with their tea quality, their package goes toward forcing away much of their clientele, yet we always come back for more.

They have recently done away with their ridiculous $25 minimum charge for credit cards but still tack on a little extra for sit down service. What's more, each person is required to spend a minimum of $4 for enjoying their drink there. How can anybody like $8 tea drinks? I really don't see the appeal of overpaying at all, while their tea is actually pretty good, I tend to refuse getting boba here out of principle. On the subject of boba, my came out almost like mush and had a very slimy texture.

Service was appalling and inattentive, and when our waitress would finally stop by, she could barely speak a lick of English. Our drinks were all brought out individually and over a 20 minute time span. In the past, I've been kicked out of two different locations for breaking the unspoken $10 to half hour rule, meaning that I didn't spend the mandatory $20 per person per hour to sit there. Plus, when they need your table, they either transplant you or kick you out altogether. I honestly don't see the appeal and would much rather go across the street for boba at half the price and none of the hassle. On the bright side, there's a couple of tables outside where you can sip on your boba with your puppy, but considering how packed this place gets, you'd be lucky to actually find a seat.
