The Creamery has a great laid back pub feel. There's a large sunny patio out front, always with a water bowl and at least one or two dogs. There's also a huge dog-friendly patio in back with some shade.

The food (crepes, sandwiches, salads, Ritual coffee) is okay. I do appreciate that they make an effort to use fresh, local ingredients. The owner/manager is a hoot! So very nice, with a happy ruddy complexion and Irish accent. Oh, and he loves dogs too!

Those that work in SoMa know what a good pick-me-up can do in the morning when getting off the crappy MUNI. There's several choices right off the line, but mine this morning was The Creamery.

I was worried about getting too wired so I opted for the hot chocolate. What I liked was that it didn't just taste like syrup and milk, but more of a subtle chocolate latte. It was definitely not what I expected, but turned out to be quite the pleasant surprise.

My favorite part about The Creamery was definitely the mega dog-friendly patio and the friendly, fast service. There's ever a water bowl outside for your pup when in need. It's at the hub of Caltrain activity so it's a wonderful place to people watch on a nice day.

Nice place to come for coffee, salad or sandwich in nice weather only. Prices are expensive - $12 for a cellophane wrapped sandwich. Really? Coffee is decent.

Dogs have to be left outside tied to a chair or table. That's fine for a retriever but when service is slow and I'm standing in line forever, I'm worried someone will make off with my toy poodle.
